Catalog and Student Handbook 2019-2020

Certificate Programs

The College offers certificate programs in Medical Coding, Neurodiagnostic Technology, Intraoperative Neuromonitoring, Clinical Documentation Improvement, and Patient Advocacy. 

Students are awarded the certificate after meeting the criteria below:

 

Certificate in Neurodiagnostic Technology (NDT) and Certificate in Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM)

  • Successful completion of the certificate program as prescribed by the College
  • A cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher
  • A minimum grade of C (2.0) in all NDT or IONM professional courses
  • Completion of all NDT or IONM program requirements within two years of enrollment at the College

 

Certificate in Medical Coding 

  • Successful completion of the certificate program as prescribed by the College
  • A cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher
  • A minimum grade of D (63-66) in the introductory courses HIT 1040, HIT 1051, HIT 1310 and HIT 1250
  • A minimum grade of C (73-76) in the following professional coding courses HIT 2200, HIT 2250, HIT 2301, HIT 2302, HIT 2400, and HIT 2440
  • Completion of all medical coding program requirements within three years of enrollment at the College

 

Certificate in Clinical Documentation Improvement

  • Successful completion of the certificate program as prescribed by the College
  • A cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher
  • A minimum grade of D (63-66) in each course within the CDI program
  • Completion of all CDI program requirements within one year of enrollment at the College

 

Certificate in Patient Advocacy

  • Successful completion of the certificate program as prescribed by the College
  • A cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher
  • A minimum grade of C in each course within the patient advocacy program
  • Completion of all patient advocacy program requirements within one year of enrollment at the College
