Program-Specific Application and Admission Requirements

Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM) Certificate

In order to be accepted into the Intraoperative Neuromonitoring Certificate program, applicants must meet the Application Requirements for All Programs, the General Admission Criteria for All Programs, and the program-specific criteria and requirements listed below. 

IONM Admission Criteria

• General Admission Criteria for All Programs
• This professional certificate program has been designed for individuals holding a Neurodiagnostic Technology (NDT) Certificate, or an associate degree or higher from an accredited college, or extensive work experience in NDT as follows:
  • NDT credentials with an associate degree or certificate in NDT, or
  • NDT field experience for five plus years, preferred, or
  • An associate, bachelor, master, or doctoral degree in a medical field

IONM Application Requirements

• Attend an information session webinar
• Interview with the IONM Program Director
• Submit evidence of NDT registrations or certifications, such REEGT or REPT

Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Certificate

In order to be accepted into the Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Certificate program, applicants must meet the Application Requirements for All Programs, the General Admission Criteria for All Programs, and the program-specific criteria and requirements listed below.

• Submit evidence of MD, DO, RN, or RHIA credentials or certifications
  Note: Students who do not wish to sit for the National Exams are exempt from holding a medical, nursing, or RHIA credential

Neurodiagnostic Technology Certificate

In order to be accepted into the Neurodiagnostic Technology Certificate program, applicants must meet the Application Requirements for All Programs, the General Admission Criteria for All Programs, and the program-specific criteria and requirements listed below. 

NDT Admission Criteria

NDT Application Requirements

• Application Requirements for All Programs
• Attend an information session webinar
• Submit an essay (essay waived for applicants with a prior bachelor's degree or higher)
  • Essay should be 300-500 words on why NDT is important in medicine today, and why you wish to pursue this field. If you have related work experience, you may also use your essay to describe your experience within this field. 
• Visit a clinical site and complete the Clinical Site Visit Form and the Verified Clinical Location form

Nursing: Associate of Science

In order to be accepted into the Associate of Science in Nursing program, applicants must meet the Application Requirements for All Programs, the General Admission Criteria for All Programs, and the program-specific criteria and requirements listed below.

Requirements are dependent upon the applicant's level of education, as outlined below. Some applicants will be required to take the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) for acceptance or course placement, based on their GPA. The TEAS will be offered to these applicants on campus at Labouré College at no additional charge. 

High School Students or Graduates with No College Experience

Applicants who are currently in high school, or applicants who have never taken any courses for college credit after high school and have graduated from high school within the last five years

High School Students or Graduates with No College Experience Admission Criteria

• General Admission Criteria for All Programs
• Mathematics: two years with a final grade of C or higher
• Science: one year of laboratory sciences (Biology or Chemistry) with a final grade of C or higher
• SAT, ACT or TEAS scores meeting minimum thresholds (contact Admissions for details)

High School Students or Graduates with No College Experience Application Requirements

• Application Requirements for All Programs
  • Submit the most recent official high school transcript at the time of application
  • If accepted, a final transcript must be provided at least two weeks prior to the start of their accepted semester
• Submit SAT or ACT scores
  • Students who do not have SAT or ACT scores, or whose SAT or ACT scores do not meet the minimum thresholds may be required to take the TEAS

All accepted students will receive a My Academic Plan (MAP) and are required to meet with their assigned academic advisor at least two weeks before beginning their first semester. 

General Education Degree (GED) Holders or High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) Completers with No College Experience

• SAT, ACT or TEAS scores meeting minimum thresholds (contact Admissions for details)

GED or HiSET Completers with No College Experience Application Requirements

• Submit SAT or ACT scores
  • Students who do not have SAT or ACT scores, or whose SAT or ACT scores do not meet the minimum thresholds may be required to take the TEAS

All accepted students will receive a My Academic Plan (MAP) and are required to meet with their assigned academic advisor at least two weeks before beginning their first semester. 

Transfer Students Without a Bachelor, Master, or Doctoral Degree

Applicants who have completed college courses outside of high school, but have not completed a bachelor, master, or doctoral degree. Associate degree holders are included in this category. 

Transfer Students Without a Bachelor, Master, or Doctoral Degree Admission Criteria

• General Admission Criteria for All Programs
• Mathematics: one college-level, non-developmental mathematics class (i.e. College Algebra or Statistics) with a final grade of C or higher.
  *LPN graduates of board approved vocational technical nursing programs will be reviewed individually for non-developmental math equivalency
• Science: one 4-credit college-level life science course with accompanying laboratory, with a final grade of C or higher
• Applicants with a cumulative GPA between a 2.0 and 2.49 will be required to take the TEAS exam as an entry test. Applicants meeting this criteria will be notified by the Department of Admissions. 

Transfer Students Without a Bachelor, Master, or Doctoral Degree Application Requirements

• Application Requirements for All Programs
• Applicants with a cumulative GPA between a 2.0 and 2.49 will take the TEAS as an entry test at Labouré College free of charge as part of their application requirements. Applicants meeting this criteria will be notified by the Department of Admissions. 

Accepted students with a GPA between 2.5 and 2.9 will be required to take the TEAS as a placement exam at Labouré College free of charge after acceptance. 

Accepted students may receive a My Academic Plan (MAP) and are required to meet with their assigned academic advisor at least two weeks before beginning their first semester. 

Bachelor's Degree Holders

LPN to RN: Associate of Science

In order to be accepted into the LPN to RN track of the Associate of Science in Nursing program, applicants must be an LPN and meet the Application Requirements for All Programs, the General Admission Criteria for All Programs, and the program-specific criteria and requirements listed below.

Requirements are dependent upon the applicant's level of education, as outlined below. Some applicants will be required to take the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) for acceptance or course placement, based on their GPA. The TEAS will be offered to these applicants on campus at Labouré College at no additional charge. 

To be eligible for advanced placement, applicant must have graduated from another regionally accredited, post-secondary institution, pre-licensure program recognized by the Department of Higher Education, and be a board of nursing fully approved program. Proof of a current, valid license as a Licensed Practical Nurse is required.

LPN - RN Admission Criteria

• Nursing: Associate of Science program requirements according to education level as listed in the Nursing: Associate of Science section
• Hold a current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing. The Department of Admissions will verify this through your state licensing agency. 

LPN - RN Application Requirements

• Submit a copy of a current LPN license. The Department of Admissions will verify this through your state licensing agency.       

Accepted students may receive a My Academic Plan (MAP) and are required to meet with their assigned academic advisor at least two weeks before beginning their first semester. 

Nursing: Bachelor of Science

In order to be accepted into the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, applicants must meet the Application Requirements for All Programs, the General Admission Criteria for All Programs, and the program-specific criteria and requirements listed below. 

RN to BSN Admission Criteria

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • If your GPA falls below a 2.5, please contact the Department of Admissions to discuss your options
• A current RN license in good standing.
  • Current Labouré College Associate of Science in Nursing students or alumni of Labouré College who have not yet taken the NCLEX should contact the Department of Admissions to discuss their options.

RN to BSN Application Requirements

  • Evidence of high school completion is waived
• Submit a copy of your current RN license. The Department of Admissions will verify this through your state licensing agency. 

Radiation Therapy: Associate of Science

In order to be accepted into the Associate of Science in Radiation Therapy program, applicants must meet the Application Requirements for All Programs, the General Admission Criteria for All Programs, and the program-specific criteria and requirements listed below.

High School Students or Graduates with No College Experience

Applicants who are currently in high school, or applicants who have never taken any courses for college credit after high school and have graduated from high school within the last five years

High School Students or Graduates with No College Experience Admission Criteria

• General Admission Criteria for All Programs
• Mathematics: two years with a final grade of C or higher
• Science: one year of laboratory sciences (Biology or Chemistry) with a final grade of C or higher
• SAT scores may be submitted but are not required

High School Students or Graduates with No College Experience Application Requirements

• Application Requirements for All Programs
  • Submit the most recent official high school transcript at the time of application
  • If accepted, a final transcript must be provided at least two weeks prior to the start of their accepted semester
• Attend an information session
• Submit the completed Clinical Site Acknowledgement Form
• Submit SAT scores (optional) 
• Submit an essay
  • Essay must be 1 page and describe the research you have completed regarding the differences within the radiologic science fields listed below. In your essay, write a brief description of each of the following: 
    • Radiation Therapist
    • Radiologic Technologist
    • Magnetic Resonance Technologist
    • Nuclear Medical Technologist
    • Ultrasound Technician
  • Include links to two YouTube videos that you found and viewed that explain how a patient is treated using radiation therapy, and the daily duties of a radiation therapist. Add these links to the bottom of your essay.

  The purpose of this essay is to make sure you understand the differences between the fields above, and to explain in your own words why radiation therapy is the field of study you wish to pursue, and how you feel that you would be a good fit in this profession. 

Transfer Students

Applicants who have completed college courses outside of high school, including applicants who have completed an associate, bachelor, master, or doctoral degree.

• Applicants with a cumulative GPA between a 2.0 and 2.49 will be required to take the TEAS exam as an entry test. Applicants meeting this criteria will be notified by the Department of Admissions.
