The Student Success Center

The Student Success Center (SSC) is the central welcoming point for all students and visitors to campus. Members of the Student Success Center are available to answer questions, help solve problems, and schedule appointments for students at a distance or on campus by email, on the phone, or in person.

The Student Success Center (SSC) is also designed to enrich learning opportunities through resources available to students at a distance or on campus. Modeled on best practices for excellence in teaching and learning, the SSC provides students with opportunities to extend and to deepen their classroom learning experiences by participating in academic advising, tutoring through TutorMe - a virtual tutoring platform, course specific tutors via Zoom or on campus, basic skill strengthening, career counseling, and/or short-term personal counseling to help direct your next steps. The SSC strives to be a warm and welcoming community of learners dedicated to fostering student growth and success. Students requesting a meeting with an advisor are encouraged to email StudentSuccess@laboure.edu to set up a meeting with the Advisor on Duty that day. Virtual and walk-in appointments are available daily during normal business hours; however, students are encouraged to make an appointment by calling 617-322-3579 or emailing StudentSuccess@laboure.edu in advance.

Normal business hours for the Student Success Center are:

  • Monday - Friday: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm

You can reach the SSC at 617-322-3579 or StudentSuccess@laboure.edu.

Office of of Academic Support

In collaboration with the Student Success Center, the Office of Academic Support was developed and is dedicated to supporting the academic success of all students at the College. Students have access to a variety of free academic support services including weekly and on-demand tutoring for general education courses, nursing, and our allied health programs. Student success workshops are offered at scheduled times, by appointment, and in on-demand video format for students seeking further support in areas such as time and stress management, general study skills, notetaking, and developing concept maps.

Additionally, students may choose to participate in the College's peer mentorship program where students are paired up with a peer who has demonstrated success and leadership skills in their previous coursework. Peer mentorship not only provides additional support for students new to the College and their program, but also leadership development and aids in establishing a stronger student community.

The Office of Academic Support also works with students to develop academic plans to support success for those retaking a course, returning to the College, or by request and conducts regular outreach to students needing additional support throughout the semester to help ensure successful progression.

The tutoring and workshop schedules are located on my.laboure.edu under the Student tab, and then by clicking on 'Office of Academic Support' from the list of links on the left side of the page.
