All information listed below is related to admission into the 2022-2023 Academic Year.

In order to be accepted into the Associate of Science in Respiratory Care program, applicants must meet the Application Requirements for All Programs, the General Admission Criteria for All Programs, and the program-specific criteria and requirements listed below.
Labouré College of Healthcare's Associate of Science in Respiratory Care program has limited capacity. Because this is a limited capacity program, not all applicants who meet the minimum criteria will be offered acceptance to the program. Offers of acceptance will be made to qualified candidates after consideration of both the minimum criteria for admission and the candidate's overall academic history and progress.
The Department of Admissions will extend acceptance offers to qualified candidates until the program has been filled for a particular cohort. Qualified candidates who are not initially offered acceptance will be automatically reviewed for the following cohort.
Requirements are dependent upon the applicant's level of education, as outlined below. Some applicants will be required to take the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) for acceptance or course placement, based on their GPA. The TEAS will be offered to these applicants at no additional charge. Tests are proctored online.
High School Students or Graduates with No College Experience
Applicants who are currently in high school, or applicants who have never taken any courses for college credit after high school and have graduated from high school within the last five years.
High School Students or Graduates with No College Experience Admission Criteria
- General Admission Criteria for All Programs
- Mathematics: two years with a final grade of C or higher
- Science: one year of laboratory sciences (Biology or Chemistry) with a final grade of C or higher
- SAT, ACT or TEAS scores meeting minimum thresholds (contact Admissions for details)
High School Students or Graduates with No College Experience Application Requirements
- Application Requirements for All Programs
- Submit the most recent official high school transcript at the time of application
- If accepted, a final transcript must be provided at least two weeks prior to the start of their accepted semester
- Submit SAT or ACT scores
- Students who do not have SAT or ACT scores, or whose SAT or ACT scores do not meet the minimum thresholds may be required to take the TEAS as an entry test
TEAS Test Requirement for High School Students or Graduates with No College Experience
All accepted high school students or graduates with no college experience will be required to take the TEAS as a placement exam at Labouré free of charge after acceptance. Tests are proctored online. The test is taken after the student begins at Labouré. The Student Success Center will send information about testing dates during the student's first semester of enrollment. The test must be taken according to the schedule; failure to test by the deadline will change the student's progression map and professional course start semester.
Accepted students with a cumulative GPA between a 2.0 and 2.99 will also be required to participate in the My Academic Plan (MAP) program. There is no charge for MAP. The goals of the program are to provide resources and strategies for academic success unique to the program at Labouré. Read more about MAP here.

TEAS Test Requirement for GED or HiSET Completers with No College Experience
All accepted GED or HiSET completers with no college experience will be required to take the TEAS as a placement exam at Labouré free of charge after acceptance. Tests are proctored online. The test is taken after the student begins at Labouré. The Student Success Center will send information about testing dates during the student's first semester of enrollment. The test must be taken according to the schedule; failure to test by the deadline will change the student's progression map and professional course start semester.

Transfer Students Without a Bachelor, Master, or Doctoral Degree
Applicants who have completed college courses outside of high school, but have not completed a bachelor, master, or doctoral degree. Associate degree holders are included in this category.
Transfer Students Without a Bachelor, Master, or Doctoral Degree Admission Criteria
- General Admission Criteria for All Programs
- Mathematics: one 3-credit college-level, non-developmental mathematics class (i.e. College Algebra or Statistics) with a final grade of C or higher.
- Science: one 4-credit college-level life science course with accompanying laboratory, with a final grade of C or higher
- Applicants with a cumulative GPA between a 2.0 and 2.49 will be required to take the TEAS exam through Labouré as an entry test and must earn the minimum score as outlined in the requirements below. The test is proctored online and there is no charge to take the test through Labouré. The minimum scores needed are a 69% on the Reading section, and a 60% on the English and Language Usage section. Applicants meeting this criteria will be notified by the Department of Admissions.
Transfer Students Without a Bachelor, Master, or Doctoral Degree Application Requirements

- Applicants with a cumulative GPA between a 2.0 and 2.49 will take the TEAS as an entry test at Labouré free of charge as part of their application requirements. Tests are proctored online. The minimum scores needed are a 69% on the Reading section, and a 60% on the English and Language Usage section. Applicants meeting this criteria will be notified by the Department of Admissions.

All accepted Transfer Students without a bachelor, master's or doctoral degree will be required to take the TEAS as a placement exam at Labouré free of charge after acceptance.
